The school celebrated Mothers’ Day on the first Sunday of May, as it is traditionally celebrated in Hungary. Mothers and the church community was invited for the celebration to the Bocskai Hall after the church service. The performance started with singing and acting a Hungarian children play, “Bújj, bújj zöldág”. It was followed by a short performance of gyimesi folk dance. The dance was instructed by Laura Linczényi, KCSP scholarship holder for 2023. It is planned, that she will provide further folk-dance instruction for the school’s students for the rest of her stay. The dance performance proceeded by recitation of Hungarian poems by our older students. The performance was closed off by distributing our hand-made Mothers’ Day gifts: each mother received a hand painted apron, and all ladies received a rose from Csaba Dézsi, our pastor.
